Monday, August 31, 2009 Favre's second preseason outing with Minnesota was solid — 13 completions in 18 attempts for 142 yards and one touchdown. He said before the game he might have a cracked rib, but he looked fine during the game.
Saturday, August 22, 2009 Even Favre needs more than two and a half days to get up to speed. He played two series and completed one of four passes for 4 yards in his preseason debut Friday night.
Tuesday, August 18, 2009 He's back. Favre signed a contract with the Vikings and wore a red No. 4 jersey on the practice field, signaling his unretirement and ending the position battle between Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson. Favre will start for the Vikings.
Tuesday, August 18, 2009 A high-level source with the Minnesota Vikings tells WCCO-TV's Mark Rosen that quarterback Brett Favre is expected to sign with the team today.
Monday, August 17, 2009 FOX Sports is reporting that a number of Minnesota Vikings players have said that they expect Favre to join the team at some point this season. These comments aren’t too surprising given the underwhelming play of Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels in the early going.
Tuesday, July 28, 2009 ESPN is reporting that Favre has informed the Minnesota Vikings that he is staying retired. So, the Vikes are back to square one with Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson set to battle for the starting QB job in camp.
Monday, June 08, 2009 The fact that Favre has now had two recent surgeries seems to point at him preparing for a return this season. If he does, the most likely place will be Minnesota. Favre had surgery to repair a torn biceps tendon in May and then had a procedure performed on his throwing shoulder this past weekend.
Look for Tomlinson to be elsewhere in 2010. L.T. told The San Diego Union-Tribune today that he will not be with the Chargers next season. ?I?m not coming back,? said Tomlinson, who added that he believes the Chargers will release him.
Welker underwent successful knee surgery today to repair a torn ACL suffered in Week 17. At this time, projections for his return vary. Optimistically, he might be ready for the season opener in September, but realistically, it's likely to be much later. A torn ACL is a more devastating injury for a receiver who has to make sharp, precise cuts. We don't think we'll see him until the latter half of the '10 season.
Fantasy lost one of its premier QBs today when Warner announced his retirement. It would seem that Matt Leinart's time has now finally come, but only time will tell if he's truly ready to make the leap to being a starter.
Stewart had successful surgery on his left Achilles' tendon, Wednesday, January 20th. He is expected to be healthy to participate in the Panthers' minicamp in May.
